application

Application Method

Marbelite Pools • Fibreglass Pools • Concrete Dams • Fish Ponds
Duraflex Pool Epoxy can be applied by roller or brush. Care must be taken to use quality brushware for a good finish. The primer coat should be applied liberally, but do not cause “pooling”. Always apply Duraflex Pool Epoxy in a uniform direction and the area can be “blended” by re-rolling over the area with the roller, without adding or dipping the roller into the container. This will ensure even distribution of Duraflex Pool Epoxy. Allow proper curing times before applying the second coat, which is at least 8 hours.

mixing

Mixing Procedure

The Duraflex Pool Epoxy kit is supplied in equal quantities of Activator (A) and Base (B). The Activator is a semi clear/opaque fluid and the Base is the desired coloured fluid. Only mix the quantity required by adding equal parts of Activator and Base into a clean container. Stir intermittently for 30 minutes until a uniform structure is achieved. The coating is ONLY THEN READY FOR USE. Colours: White, Sky Blue, Medium Blue, Dark Blue, Charcoal and Black

Instructions, Coverage & Limitations

Instructions for Use: Substrates should at all times be free from oils, latencies, damp and foreign materials, including existing, incompatible coatings. Surface preparation may include several options and its advisable to consult our Duraflex Pool Epoxy technical data sheet. Coverage: Duraflex Pool Epoxy is specified at 200 µm. (3sqm per/lt for a 2 coat system). 6sqm per litre on the primer coat • 6sqm per litre on the secondary coat. Limitaions: Duraflex Pool Epoxy can be applied at substrate temperatures between 15°C-35°C at a relative humidity of 50%. Pot Life: 4 Hours @ 25°C.
